With a practice focused on the experience of seeing and moving through the world, Robert Irwin employs light (or the lack thereof) as a medium in his art. Open at Sprüth Magers through March 26, Irwin is presenting two new bodies of work continuing this exploration. Including a suite of hanging colorful sculptural forms and a series of new Unlights—fluorescent wall-hung works that don’t emit light—viewers at the Berlin gallery will experience the conditional nature of Irwin’s work, which changes based on the time and space in which it is seen.
